LAWorld EMEA: Connecting Attorneys at Law globally
TSG Lawyers Belgrade was honoured to receive an official invitation from LAWorld, an international organisation consisting of 57 independent law firms with more than 1350 lawyers in 100 cities. The invitation was for TSG to participate in a regional meeting in Vienna on 18th-19th October 2024, as the only law firm from the Republic of Serbia.
Representatives from over 20 European and US-based law firms attended the recent regional meeting. The event provided a valuable opportunity for attendees to share insights on economic development, industry updates, legal regulations, and other topics crucial for the daily operations of large business entities. Notably, the meeting focused on assisting attorneys at law in maintaining familiarity with the latest legal developments. LAWorld brought together a group of leading experts from different legal fields, whose knowledge and experience were of great importance to colleagues from other legal jurisdictions. The aim was to familiarise these colleagues with comparative legal practice and to give them the opportunity to compare the legal solutions of the legislation in their own jurisdiction.
During the extensive programme of the regional meeting, which included presentations on various legal and commercial topics as well as plans for further activities of the LAWorld organisation, the partner of TSG Lawyers Serbia, Attorney at Law Dušan Pejkić and Attorney at Law Stefan Maljković, held a presentation of TSG Advokat Belgrade in front of attorneys from more than 20 countries, including European jurisdictions and the United States of America.
LAWorld members in attendance at the EMEA regional meeting were granted the opportunity to gain further insight into the history of TSG Lawyers Serbia, which has been practising law for over two decades. The presentation also provided information about the areas of law in which TSG Lawyers Serbia specialises. TSG Lawyers Serbia’s core values were thoroughly outlined during the presentation, with a particular focus on delivering prompt and personalised legal counsel that aligns with the client’s best interests and the prevailing legal framework, as stipulated by the Law on Advocacy.
The members of the LAWorld organisation have expressed considerable interest in the legal regulation of the Republic of Serbia and its compliance with other European jurisdictions. This is due to the fact that the Republic of Serbia is a potential market for their clients in the industry sector, as represented by European law offices. The legal framework governing the capital market, various industries and the functioning of business entities in the Republic of Serbia was assessed as very satisfactory by the interlocutors of TSG Lawyers Serbia, and the Republic of Serbia as a country that could potentially be of interest to clients of other law firms when expanding the market and developing business.
