Republic of Serbia to host GPAI Summit 2024

After two years of joining the Global Partnership for Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter: “GPAI”), an organisation which counts 29 country members, the Republic of Serbia will host the GPAI on 3-4 December 2024, which will be held in Belgrade, Palace of Serbia. The importance of the development and legal regulation of artificial intelligence, which was recognised by Republic of Serbia by presenting the Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy in 2019, just two years after Finland as the first country in the world to do so, and by preparing the draft Artificial Intelligence Act as one of the few jurisdictions preparing an internal legal regulation, was one of the reasons why Republic of Serbia will preside over GPAI in the following three years. In the mentioned three-year period, the Republic of Serbia will be the co-chair of GPAI in the first and third year, and the main chair in the second year.

During the two-day GPAI Summit in Belgrade on 3 and 4 December, four different types of meetings/events will be organised as follows: expert events, GPAI closed event, ministerial event and side events.

Participation in the GPAI Summit in Belgrade will be possible online or in person with prior registration at the website of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (hereinafter: “OECD”).
