Ship owners required to renew registration of ship ownership

Owners of domestic ships are required to renew registration of ship ownership in the next 20 months (until 1 January 2018) under the new Law on Commercial Navigation. This requirement also applies to co-owners, who need to register the right of co-ownership.

The application for the registration of the right of ownership may be submitted to the relevant Harbourmaster’s Office, as of 01 June 2016.

A renewal of registration of ship ownership is necessary so that the existing registration may be brought in line with the provisions of the new Law. The new Law was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia”, No. 96/2015.
