SERBIA: New Mandatory Certificates for Employees Working during the Curfew
Employers whose employees work between 5pm and 5am and are exempted from the Order on Prohibition and Restriction of Movement of Persons in the Territory of the Republic of Serbia (the “Order”) are required to issue an appropriate certificate to each employee, the Ministry of Economy communicated on 26 March 2020.
You may access the form of the certificate following this link. Please note that the Chamber of Commerce stated that all certificates need to be issued in the form provided and no other form will be considered during field inspections.
Employers with up to 100 employers and those with more than 100 employers in the shift falling within the curfew time shall issue the certificate daily and weekly respectively, for each employee authorised to leave home during the curfew by the Interior Ministry.
The communication underlined that as of 5pm on 28 March 2020, during routine controls of compliance with the Order, the police shall ask employees to produce the certificate (whether in paper or electronic form – phone or tablet scan, etc) issued by the employer, which will be valid only provided that the relevant person has been registered with the data base of the Interior Ministry and granted exemption from the Order on Prohibition and Restriction of Movement of Persons in the Territory of the Republic of Serbia.
As a result of lifting the state of emergency in the Republic of Serbia on 6 May 2020, this Order is no longer effective. Find out more here
